The WEN Colorado Chapter is proud to support not only women currently working in all sectors of the energy industry, but also young women interested in pursuing future energy careers.
Kelly de la Torre Scholarship Fund
The Women’s Energy Network of Colorado Kelly de la Torre Scholarship Fund was established in memory of former founding member of Women In Energy friend, Kelly de la Torre. Kelly was a prominent professional in Colorado focused on utilizing scientific innovation to advance the energy industry. As a practicing attorney, she facilitated all aspects of the commercialization of new technologies. Kelly was passionate about helping women advance in the energy industry, dedicated to making the world a better place through outreach and education, and she firmly believed that fostering scientific innovation at a young age would inspire and empower children to pursue a meaningful career in science and technology.
Through our scholarship fund and outreach with local and national partnerships, our members volunteer their time to share their passion and introduce young ladies to STEM so we can develop their interests in subjects that will lead them to succeed. To date, we have raised more than $15,000 for this fund!
The application process for 2020 scholarships is now closed. Please check back in January for information about the 2021 scholarship.
Congratulations to our 2019 scholarship recipients, Faith Lee Brendefur and Megan Maley!
