Mentoring Program

Following the success of our inaugural year, we are excited to open the application process for the Women’s Energy Network Greater New York City 2021-2022 Mentoring Program. Despite COVID-19 impacting the ability for the program to occur in-person, our program participants reported having a unique and rewarding mentorship experience, with many indicating that they are interested in participating in the program again.

We are eager to expand our program and connect even more women in the energy industry.  You are invited to take part in the program, either as a mentor or mentee, by filling out this short application which will help us build mentoring circles that optimize your time and enable you to make the most of this experience.

More information about the WEN Mentoring Program can be found below.  We really look forward to your participation and are happy to answer any questions you may have.

About WEN Mentoring Program
WEN Greater NYC 2021-2022 Mentoring Program will run from September 2021 – June 2022.
The WEN Mentoring Program* is designed to promote professional and leadership development by pairing seasoned mentors with mentees who seek career guidance and opportunities to expand their network.
WEN’s careful mentor identification and selection process, as well as its innovative “mentoring circles” provide mentees the unique opportunity to learn about the experiences of women who have carved careers in a variety of different energy-related roles, including women who serve on the current Board of WEN. The circle format allows the mentors and mentees to openly exchange ideas, thereby building trust among each other. Mentoring circles are generally comprised of 6 to 11 mentees and up to two mentors.
On a monthly basis, mentors will lead discussions on varying pre-selected topics such as leadership presence, effective networking, workplace agility, and personal branding, each designed to help mentees with professional development.  Mentors and mentees are provided a monthly “discussion guide” to help break the ice and aide in these conversations.
Mentors will receive training to equip them with tools to best help mentees.
With the hope of returning to in-person networking, WEN is looking forward to hosting cross-circle events throughout the fall and spring, potentially including the September kick-off event.
The WEN Mentoring Program is only open to WEN members. Find out more about WEN and sign-up for a membership here. If you think more women in your company would benefit from this special organization, please reach out regarding Corporate Membership.
