Dear WEN Greater Oklahoma (WENOK),
As we all collectively head towards the exciting opportunities in 2022, I am humbled to serve as your 2022 president. For over the past six years, I have witnessed tremendous chapter growth along with a strong commitment to our mission, which is to attract, retain and develop talented women across the energy sector.
Last year, we celebrated our chapter’s six-year anniversary. It is a great time to reflect on all of the achievements of our organization since October, 2015. There is so much to be proud of. To highlight a few, I am very proud of our formal mentoring program that year over year continues to deliver a valuable experience and a safe professional environment for everyone involved. We continue to stay innovative with our award-winning STEM program and expand volunteering events in the community. We also stay creative with our programming and strive to provide diverse educational events each month.
I know it does not stop here. As we look towards 2022, I am confident that our organization will continue to grow and provide the best quality programs and networking opportunities for our members. We are already at a great start with the upcoming Executive Presence panel discussion in February. Of course, all of this could not have happened without strong leadership from our board members, generous support of our sponsors, involvement of committee chairs and strategic mentorship from our advisory board. I am extremely grateful for everyone who has invested and continues to invest into the success of our organization.
To me, WENOK has become like an extended family. The importance of inclusivity and diversity is at the heart of our organization. This reflects in our members, sponsors, and board’s leadership. With increasing remote work, lingering uncertainties, and shifts in the workplace demands, we hope WENOK can be a steady place where everyone feels welcomed and finds opportunities to fit personal career development needs. With that in mind, I want to wish everyone a healthy and safe 2022! Let’s continue to connect, learn, and grow together.
2022 President, WEN Greater Oklahoma Chapter
