President’s Message

Despite the challenges we have faced over the past couple of years due to the pandemic, the women on our board, our committee chairs, and all of our members have shown resiliency and are now stronger than before. While we weren’t always able to meet in person, we continued to identify opportunities to connect and advocate for each other while navigating a new virtual world. One of our biggest strengths as a Chapter is to come together and align ourselves with our vision and mission. We continued to provide networking opportunities to our members, support women who work across the energy value chain, and educate energy professionals along the way.

The Greater Pittsburgh Chapter celebrated 10 years along with the Susquehanna Valley, Ohio and West Virginia Chapters, as part of the original WEN Appalachia Chapter. I’m honored to be a part of such an amazing group of women leaders advocating for women leadership in the energy industry and look forward to seeing the continued growth of the Chapter.

Our Chapter’s focus and hope for 2022 is to establish an executive membership program and expand DE&I initiatives while continuing the tradition of holding wellness, leadership, and networking events. I'm also excited to announce Greater Pittsburgh is partnering with Ohio, and West Virginia Chapters to elevate the WEN Greater Pittsburgh Annual Educational Conference into the Power Appalachia Conference, which will bring all three chapters together to bring the Appalachian region an outstanding educational event. Additionally, we look forward to our 8th Annual Boots & Ballgowns Gala which not only gives back to the community but honors outstanding companies and women in the energy industry.

While we have several goals set for this year, the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter Board is a group of motivated and exceptional women who will continue to provide excellent leadership for the Chapter. I look forward to seeing what all this Chapter accomplishes in 2022 and am thankful to be a part of this Chapter and organization.
