President’s Message

Welcome to the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of Women’s Energy Network. 2019 was such an amazing year for our Chapter, and we are excited to see continued growth and expansion in 2020!  I am pleased to announce that WEN Greater Pittsburgh is now the 3rd largest Chapter in the nation.  We owe this major milestone to the support of our members, partners, and especially to our dedicated and generous sponsors.  A huge thank you for such a wonderful year!

As WEN Greater Pittsburgh’s membership expands, we are dedicated to offering high-level programming and phenomenal networking opportunities to our members. Our Board of Directors work tirelessly to accomplish the goals we set for our Chapter and are committed to an even stronger organization as we move forward.

It was a pleasure working with the Directors, Chairs, and Committee members throughout 2019.  Here are some highlights from this past year:
  • 5th Annual Boots and Ballgowns Gala – Over 500 folks in attendance at this renowned event and we raised over $7,000 for Strong Women, Strong Girls Pittsburgh
  • Mentor Program – This was a new initiative for 2019 and was extremely successful.  We will continue to grow this program in 2020
  • Educational Conference – Over 90 women and men attended our 1st Educational Conference at Duquesne University and showcased the talent and expertise of our very own WEN members
  • Industry Tours – Shell Cracker, Tenaska Natural Gas Power Plant, and Beaver Valley Nuclear Plant
  • Partnerships – Proud to continue working with Leadership Pittsburgh as a partner of our award-winning Leadership Series
  • Networking Events – Added some new trendy events and kept the always popular Breweries, Clay Shoot, Axe Throwing, and the 1st Annual Mini Golf Open.  In addition, our infamous Industry Conference Happy Hours were taken to another level this year!  Don’t miss them in 2020

That is only a small taste of all the fun we had. Don’t miss out: Follow us on Facebook and Linkedin and coming soon in 2020, Instagram and Twitter!
