President’s Message

The President's message is a platform for the previous year’s President to reflect on their presidency as well as the successes and advancements of the local Chapter.  This year, we take a slightly different approach to thank and congratulate WEN Greater Pittsburgh's 2020 President, Keri Cimarolli.

Keri became a member of WEN Appalachian Basin shortly after its inception in 2011.  In 2016, she transitioned into a leadership role with the group serving as the Advisory Council Liaison.  In this position, Keri played an active role in the initiation of the highly successful WEN Appalachia Leadership Series.  Keri continued to advance her involvement within the Chapter and transitioned into the role of Program Director during 2017 and 2018.  During her time as the Program Director Keri worked diligently to solidify the WEN Greater Pittsburgh's Leadership Series as a flagship program.  This Leadership Series rapidly gained interest and support serving as one of the few leadership programs in the area providing women in energy necessary training in the areas of leadership branding, influential communications and financial security. WEN National, now known as WEN Global, recognized the success of the leadership program series and awarded the chapter Best Leadership Series in 2017.

Following her time as the Program Director, Keri served as President Elect in 2019 planning and executing one of the Chapter's most successful Gala's before stepping into the role of WEN Greater Pittsburgh's 2020 Chapter President.  In her time as President, Keri embraced the role with courage and grace all while expanding her family and becoming a mother of two.  During her presidency, Keri supported the introduction of a new platform to facilitate enhanced communications among board members and successfully led the group through a quick transition into the virtual programming world. This provided the group with the means to hold valuable events to members when many organizations were struggling to identify a path forward.

Keri has served as a leader, a mentor and a friend to many within the energy industry not only within the region but also across the nation.  To those that know her, it was no surprise to learn that Keri's career is soaring and taking her to great places.  Although the WEN Greater Pittsburgh Chapter is sad to see Keri leave the region, we are happy to celebrate Keri's accomplishments and look forward to watching her career reach new heights.

Thank you Keri for everything you have done to make the WEN Greater Pittsburgh Chapter what it is today and also for all the love and support you showed along the way.  Good luck to you and your family during your next chapter!
