President’s Message

Dear WEN Houston (WENH),

First, I wish you a very happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!

I am humbled and honored to serve as President of the Women’s Energy Network Houston, an organization that has allowed me to flourish throughout the years, by leading various roles and sitting as an active Member of the Board of Directors. The achievements and growth of WEN has collectively been powered by our individual members, past presidents, past members of the board, and each of our chair positions and committees. I look forward to continuing this important work, striving for success and innovation.

WENH’s long-standing mission is to provide women in the local energy industry with networking opportunities, by supporting career initiatives, a sense of community, and leadership development. As we transition to the “new normal”, this is the opportune time to re-engage our members through curating high caliber programming, facilitating meaningful connections, and further developing strategic partnerships with outside organizations.

I am inspired by WEN’s commitment of being intentional around diversity, with equity and inclusion as a continued focal point of the Board. We are developing and mentoring a pipeline of talent across all genders, backgrounds, generations, and nationalities, in order to support the diverse growth of the energy markets needs for the future. Additional focus will be on creating an electric atmosphere around energy transition in Houston, enhancing our educational and membership programming and workshops to also include conversations on trends in conjunction with traditional Oil & Gas, new technologies, and how we support the career transition.

This year we are celebrating our 20th anniversary of the awarding winning outreach program, Young Women Energized (YWE). I am deeply grateful of the outstanding impact this program has made throughout the years, and hope each member of WENH will be part of this momentous event, as it provides not only an opportunity to give back, but also to inspire the next generation of energy leaders. By investing in our members through education, self-awareness, and building relationships, we will lay a strong foundation for future generations of women in energy.

 Let’s make 2022 WEN Houston’s year to re-connect, re-new, and re-energize!
