Young Women Energized

What is Young Women Energized?
WEN's Young Women Energized (YWE) program offers students, parents and educators a jump start to college and career planning with its signature mentoring circle format and interactive sessions for all attendees. The program is aimed at high school students in grades 9 through 12, especially those interested in energy careers and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). The program has received many accolades, including being named the 2019 Best Outreach Program by World Oil.

2020 will be virtual! Save the date and Register today – Saturday November 7th, 10am – 1pm 
WEN Houston's 2020 YWE event will kick off with our beyond fabulous and inspiring keynote speaker Hannah Herbst!!

  • Learn and gain valuable insights from industry experts — engineers, scientists, technology professionals, lawyers, accountants, and more

  • Hear from and engage with previous YWE scholarship winners and how college has changed their lives

The Women’s Energy Network of Houston are pleased to sponsor ten (10) $10,000 one-time awards to exemplary high school senior girls from the greater Houston area.  Through its programs, WEN is committed to introducing high school students to careers in energy, helping to fuel the industry’s need for top talent in the future.

The scholarship application submission period for 2021 scholarships has closed. Thank you to all the talented students who submitted an application. 
Recipients will be announced at the 2020 YWE event.
