South Texas Chapter: Avoiding Career Detours

South Texas Chapter: Avoiding Career Detours
Even if you have clarity about your career path, it is possible to trail off on detours. Without realizing it, we can be taken off track when career decisions are influenced by those around us. In this workshop, held on October 29, you will learn how to raise your awareness of 3 common career detours and 3 ways to strengthen yourself in leading your own career path.

This session will be led by Susan Hodge, a credentialed Certified Professional Coach, as well as a seasoned executive with over two decades of leadership experience. She has previously served as Treasurer of Shell Oil and Vice President of an international group within Royal Dutch Shell. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about mentoring, diversity, and developing people. Susan has also taught courses in leadership as a Corporate Fellow in the business school of the University of Houston Downtown.

In 2012, Susan founded Women Leading Together LLC, to:

 -  Help women break through professional barriers
 -  Encourage them to discover their value in the workplace
 -  Assist women in making conscious choices to balance their lives and work
 -  Support women seeking the best professional direction for themselves

Susan provides one-on-one leadership and career coaching, seminars and workshops to help women overcome obstacles to advancement, identify their unique capabilities and develop the skills needed to achieve a fulfilling career. Susan’s clients have gone on to be selected for jobs in a highly competitive environment, receive promotions and recognition.

Susan has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Iowa State University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. She is certified by the College of Executive Coaching and holds an Associate Certified Coach credential from the International Coach Federation. She has been recognized by Texas Executive Women as a "Woman on the Move" for her leadership and community service and was featured in The Diversity Journal as a "Woman Worth Watching."
