President’s Message

Hello, current and prospective WEN members.

Thank you for visiting the South Texas chapter of Women's Energy Network (WEN - South Texas)! I am incredibly honored and humbled to be the 2020 president of this wonderful organization.

I first want to thank the amazing 2020 Board of Directors who have chosen to take on this leadership role. Working together, we aim to further the goals and mission of WEN - South Texas through events, volunteerism, and giving back to the South Texas community.

We would find it very difficult to accomplish our goals without the support of the energy sector in South Texas. We are blessed to have the backing of many corporate members and sponsors which provide the financial foundation for us to provide professional and personal growth opportunities. On behalf of WEN - South Texas, I would like to thank each of our supporting companies for believing in the benefits of partnering with us.

WEN - South Texas members represent a diverse group of energy professionals from numerous sectors and disciplines. We attract members in various professions and across the value chain. It is our goal to show diversification in our membership, representing the diversity in the energy sector and its impressive workforce. We welcome prospective members, both male and female, to learn more about our mission and join us at an event to see how we bring together energy professionals to promote networking and leadership skills development.

It's thanks to our wonderful membership that we continue to offer events and programs that we hope will ultimately increase diversity in the energy industry and in leadership roles. Our focus this year is to give our members more growth opportunities, volunteer opportunities, and family-friendly programming.

We continue to make an effort to grow our presence in the Corpus Christi area as well. An expansion program started in 2019 by our Immediate Past President, Jan Lee, will continue in 2020, and we will hopefully have even more to offer our members and friends in the Coastal Bend area.

Finally in 2020, we endeavor to find a new avenue to give back to the community. In addition to our volunteer programs and donations, we plan to institute a scholarship program, giving $1,500 to three students at local universities who are pursuing a STEM-related degree. More information on our new scholarship program will be shared as it becomes available.

In closing, I would like to again thank our members, sponsors, corporate members, and Board of Directors for their continued support and trust as we move into 2020 with large goals and great plans. I personally have high hopes and a lot of excitement for this year. I know that with a Board and membership as committed as ours, we can do amazing things. I look forward to meeting you all at one of our 2020 events and welcome you to send questions or comments to
