2015 Message from WEN-NT President - Whitney Randolph
Welcome to the North Texas Chapter of the Women’s Energy Network!
If asked to describe the Women’s Energy Network in one word I know exactly what that word would be: Empowerment. From the first WEN social I attended several years ago to the 2014 WEN Holiday Luncheon I attended last week, I leave each and every WEN event feeling empowered. This empowerment comes from the knowledge I have gained from our educational speakers at our monthly luncheons and our annual leadership conference. It comes from the connections I make by networking at our social events and within our mentoring circles with women from across all areas of the energy industry. And it comes from the women I meet who continually inspire and motivate me with everything they are accomplishing in their professional and personal lives.
If you are new to WEN, I hope you will get to know the amazing women in this organization by attending one of our upcoming monthly luncheons or networking events in Dallas or Fort Worth. With over 300 members and growing, we are always welcoming new women into our organization. Membership benefits include access to a vast network of women in energy across all WEN chapters and the ability to participate in members only mentoring circles. I am confident that once you become involved with our organization you will see the strides that WEN is continuing to make as we work together to strengthen our local energy economy.
One of our recent luncheon topics was “The 21st Century Energy Scene: It’s not your Father’s Industry.” Women have certainly played an integral role in transforming this industry into the diverse and dynamic sector that it is today. I am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to be part of an organization that encourages women to make a difference. It is my sincere hope that through WEN we can continue to support and empower each other.
