Membership Eligibility & Requirements

WEN members receive exclusive or discounted access to Global and Chapter benefits, including networking, educational and leadership programs, a job board and member directory, volunteer opportunities, and more. Membership is open to energy professionals of all gender identities who want to grow their networks, strengthen their leadership skills, and advance their careers.

To become a WEN member, you must:

• Meet the experience requirement: Hold a bachelor’s degree or technical certification, or have at least five years of professional experience in the energy industry.*

• Meet the employment requirement: Be employed by an energy company or by a company, nonprofit organization, or government entity that serves or regulates the energy industry.*

• Complete a membership application.

• Have annual membership dues paid individually, through an employer-sponsored Corporate Membership, or by a WEN Chapter on your behalf.

• Agree to WEN policies and bylaws, including the Prohibited Use of WEN Directory & Non-Solicitation Policy, WEN Global bylaws, and applicable Chapter bylaws. Copies of the bylaws are available upon request.

*Individuals who meet all other eligibility requirements but are not currently employed—including those who are retired, seeking employment, or on sabbatical—may still qualify for Individual Membership. Please contact us with questions about eligibility.

Membership Term

Memberships are valid for 12 months from the date you join. For example, a membership beginning August 1 will expire July 31 of the following year. WEN offers Individual and Corporate Memberships, with Executive Membership also available through select Chapters.
