MEET SALLY HALLINGSTAD, 2025-2026 WEN GLOBAL PRESIDENT

And just like that...it's July 1, 2025.

Today I’m proud to take on the role of WEN Global President, succeeding Gillian Flick (Pittsburgh). Though I didn’t know Gillian prior to joining the Global Board, she’s become my biggest cheerleader and I’ll be forever grateful for the opportunity to have worked with her. Thank you, Gillian, for your hard work and commitment as Global President the past 18 months. #Rockstar

For those who don’t know me, I’m a native North Dakotan who moved to Houston, TX, earlier this year with a brief 22-year layover in Denver, CO. My background is marketing and events with a passion for people, and I’ve used those skills in the nonprofit, financial, restaurant, and trade association worlds. Currently, I’m a Business Development Executive for the energy team at Baker Tilly (formerly Moss Adams), a top six accounting and consulting firm.

My “WEN Career” started in November 2016, when I was selected to be the Marketing Director for the inaugural WEN Colorado Chapter. Since then I’ve held multiple positions within the org, including the 2019 WEN Conference Co-Chair and 2020 Colorado Chapter President, before joining the Global Board as the Marketing & Communications Director in 2021. To say I’m committed to WEN is an understatement - people are often confused when they learn that WEN is not my full-time job.

Now I’ll be taking on my biggest role yet, leading an incredible group of women across the Americas. To keep focused, I’ve set three goals for my presidential term and look forward to working with the Global Board, Global Advisory Council, Chapter Leaders, and all WEN Members to make these goals a reality.

GOAL #1: Increase the value of membership for every Member, making WEN the most FOMO organization of the energy sector.
I have WEN to thank for the robust network I’ve built and leadership development opportunities I’ve been offered. While WEN has provided incredible value to me personally, I realize that not everyone may feel the same, so the key to achieving this goal is for y’all to communicate to me what YOU value and want out of your membership. You'll be receiving a member survey in the next few months to gather feedback, but I encourage you to proactively share your thoughts anytime via our online feedback form. Help me to help you make your WEN experience even better!

GOAL #2: Continue to build out resources for and provide support to Chapter Leaders.
Under Gillian’s leadership we focused on streamlining our Global processes and resources to better support our Chapters, which has helped foster collaboration, communication, and idea-sharing across all 26 of them. We’ll continue our regular communication with Chapter Leaders, honing in on the best ways to help them with administrative functions, membership growth, program development, and more.

GOAL #3: Plan and execute the most kick-a$$ WEN Conference to-date.
For those who’ve attended our past Conferences, you know that this is a lofty goal as they’ve all been amazing! I’m excited to be heading back to Fort Worth, TX, for the 2026 WEN Conference next April at the Omni Hotel. I look forward to sharing more as we approach this biennial event but for now, mark your calendars for some important dates:

Three goals that are sure to keep us all busy, and I’m here for it! Keep your eyes and ears open for quarterly updates in your inbox via the WEN Member News and make sure to follow us on LinkedIn for the in between highlights. I look forward to working with y’all over the next 12 months!
