THANK YOU FROM GILLIAN FLICK, GLOBAL PRESIDENT

With my term as President of WEN Global coming to a close, I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Global Board, the Chapter Leaders, our sponsors and our members. Leading WEN has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without it. This organization has played a pivotal role in my personal and professional growth, giving me the confidence to take bold risks in my career, knowing that I had the unwavering support of my WEN friends. I’ve built lifelong friendships along the way that mean the world to me. Together, we’ve faced challenges, celebrated successes, and made meaningful progress toward our goals.

I’m incredibly proud of WEN Global’s achievements over the past 18 months and am excited to see Sally Hallingstad step into this role. The Global Board has worked tirelessly to advance our mission, growing to more than 7,000 members across 26 chapters. We hosted a fantastic 2024 WEN Conference in Atlanta and are looking forward to hosting the 2026 WEN Conference in Fort Worth next April. This conference promises to be even bigger – it is Texas, after all - with Julie Brown as our opening keynote speaker. I’m excited to move into the Past President role and continue supporting WEN on the Global level, but also at the Chapter level again – hey WEN Greater Pittsburgh! I truly have enjoyed spending so much time with WEN and with the friends I’ve made through the organization. I’ve made WEN a part of my life, so it fits into the chaos of our family activities that revolve around club soccer for my two girls, Aria and Hadley, and co-ed volleyball that my husband and I play with our dear friends and neighbors. If you’ve heard other women in WEN speak about WEN, you know that this isn’t goodbye forever it’s goodbye for now. I’ll enjoy a little break and be back in the future supporting the organization in whatever way they may need.
