South Texas Chapter

Founded in 2013, the South Texas chapter is in the heart of the Eagle Ford Shale, the site of one of the biggest energy booms in America.

First meeting of the 2019 Board of Directors

The 2019 Board of Directors held its first meeting Wednesday, November 7, 2018 to plan for the year ahead. The Board members in the back row from left to right are: Kelsey Cihota, Director of Mentoring (Williams); Leslie Garza, Director of Marketing (OCI Solar Power); Sahar Emami, Treasurer (Ernst & Young); Nicole Hensley, Aventine Hill Partners (Aventine Hill Partners); and Alex Moczygemba, Immediate Past President (Valero). In the front row from left to right: Candace Lynch, Director of Mentorship (BDO); Amanda Martini, Director of Community Initiatives (NuStar Energy); Jan Lee, President (NuStar Energy); Erin Affeldt, Director of Industry Partnering (Howard Energy Partners); and Justine Carroll, Secretary & Chief of Staff (STEER). Happy (Hour) November Networking

The November Networking event took place Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Lupe Tortilla. Members were able to connect with each other as well as with the new Board members while enjoying tasty Tex-Mex foods and drinks. After listening to the outgoing and incoming presidents (Alex Moczygemba & Jan Lee) share a few words, some lucky participants also won new WEN South Texas swag, reusable water bottles with our official logo.

Early Thanksgiving at Dress for Success

Members of WEN South Texas helped serve a traditional Thanksgiving meal to the Professional Women’s Group at Dress for Success on November 8, 2018. They also got a chance to help the ladies pick out a sweater or coat to add to their wardrobe. In between serving meals and the women, members also had a little fun in the boutique. Dress for Success is an ongoing community initiative for WEN South Texas.
