Fueling The Future Scholarship

The Women's Energy Network (WEN) of Greater Atlanta is excited to announce the 2026 Fueling the Future scholarship, a one-time award to exemplary high school women from the Greater Atlanta area!

WEN Greater Atlanta is committed to cultivating the next generation of leaders and innovators in the energy industry. Our goal is to introduce high school students to careers in energy and to help fuel the industry’s need for top talent in the future. The Fueling the Future award is a one-time $2,500 scholarship to young women seeking degrees and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and ultimately joining the energy industry.

Application Dates: The 2026 scholarship application submission period will open on February 22nd and close on May 1st. Recipients of the Fueling the Future scholarship will be notified by the end of June. 


How to apply for the Fueling the Future Scholarship: Eligibility for the WEN FTF Scholarship requirements:

  1. You are a Female High School Senior,
  2. Graduating in Spring 2026,
  3. Currently hold a cumulative GPA above 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale), 
  4. Are a resident of one of the Greater Atlanta counties.

The application will require you to provide the name and email address of a contact for a letter of reference (this needs to be from a teacher, counselor, or other educational reference and not from a family friend, neighbor, or a relative) and also attached the following three (3) items:

  1. Current HS Transcript,
  2. Acceptance letter or other evidence to confirm admission to attending college or university,
  3. A current resume.

Please have these three items ready BEFORE starting your application.

If you need to submit attachments after completing the online application, you will receive an email with a secure link to upload the required fields. All submitted materials remain confidential and are shared only with the scholarship committee.


To apply for the Fueling the Future Scholarship:

  1. Click here to complete the WEN Greater Atlanta Fueling the Future Scholarship Application
  2. While completing the application, be prepared to answer these three essay questions (500 words or less):
    1. Essay Question #1: What inspires you to major in a STEM career?
    2. Essay Questions #2: Tell us about a personal achievement that makes you proud.
    3. Essay Questions #3: Provide a description of your current status if you come from a disadvantaged economic background, have to overcome significant obstacles in life, or let us know you are the first person in your family to go to college.

It is expected you will complete the full application including the application information, three essay questions, provide the name and email address for a letter of recommendation and provide the three attachments requested at the time you complete the application.
