The Women’s Energy Network of Permian Basin is pleased to promote the WEN Permian Basin Young Women Energized Scholarship Program (“YWE Scholarship Program”) as a demonstration of our commitment to encourage students who are pursuing careers in STEM and support the industry’s need for top talent in the future.
 

About the Scholarship Program

WEN Permian Basin awards multiple scholarships every year to female high school seniors and college freshmen and sophomores with exemplary academic records, demonstrated leadership potential, and an intent to pursue a career in energy. Scholarships will be awarded based on the WEN Permian Basin scholarship committee’s assessment of the applicant’s leadership and professional potential.

Earning a prestigious, merit-based scholarship can make you a more attractive job candidate. Employers who understand the competitive nature of the scholarship will recognize it as an accomplishment. Scholarship recipients demonstrate a strong interest in a career in energy and provide thoughtful essay responses. Additionally, scholarship recipients will be paired with a WEN North Texas mentor who can offer career advice to support scholars as they prepare to enter the energy profession. 

Eligibility

Eligible applicants must plan to attend an accredited four-year university or accredited two-year community college in the Fall of 2026 as a full-time student with the intent to enter in a STEM related industry. Matriculating scholarship awardees may re-apply for the scholarship each year they are enrolled in an eligible academic program provided they continue to meet the eligibility criteria.

Applications are processed through the Permian Basin Area Foundation's scholarship portal. 

In addition to answering basic contact questions, the online application process includes submitting the following key components:

• Major / Field of Study
• Cumulative GPA & Transcripts
• Extracurricular Activities & Service
• Essay Choice one of 3 Questions
• Career Goals

The application deadline is April 1, 2026.
