Happy New Year to the D.C. Chapter of the Women’s Energy Network (WEN DC).

We are already hard at work planning another year of fun and enriching WEN DC events and programming! First, we want to extend our sincere thanks to our 2023 board members, and especially our immediate past President, Brittany Pemberton, for all of the hard work, dedication, and leadership over the past year. We also welcome our new board and look forward to another productive year focused on supporting the professional development and advancement of women in the energy industry through relationships, networking, and education.

Additionally, we’d like to recognize our sponsors for supporting WEN DC. Without their support, we would be unable to provide the level and quality of programming we currently offer, including the numerous networking and professional development events hosted throughout the year. Our sponsors are critical to WEN DC’s continued growth and success, and we greatly appreciate their continued support.

Our chapter achieved a number of significant accomplishments over the past year:

  • We hosted a variety of creative in-person events, including our wildly successful second HalloWEN Gala, held our first family event and our first service activity happy hour, had ten monthly networking happy hours, and supported eight local organizations as part of our commitment to Diversity Equity & Inclusion.
  • Our programming team hosted some truly excellent events with speakers. DE&I Panel discussions: Say This and Not That and What to do When DE&I Is Not Enough, Maximizing Professional Communications with the Shakespeare Theatre Company, E-learning event: Selling Natural Gas in Today’s Market, and an Evening with Author Tisha Schuller: Real Decarbonization.
  • Last, but certainly not least, our Executive membership tier available for executive-level leaders in the energy industry also enjoyed several exclusive programming and networking opportunities including a murder mystery event, professional development focused-event, and a networking dinner.

This is the type of programming you can expect to continue in 2024! Please do not hesitate to reach out to either of us to learn more about our chapter and how you can join or become more involved.
