Welcome to the D.C. Chapter of the Women’s Energy Network (WEN DC).

We are hard at work planning another year of fun and enriching WEN DC events and programming, but wanted to extend our sincere thanks to our 2022 board members, and especially our immediate past President, Valerie Green, for all of the hard work, dedication, and leadership over the past year. We also welcome our new board and look forward to another productive year focused on supporting the professional development and advancement of women in the energy industry through relationships, networking, and education.

Additionally, we’d like to recognize our sponsors for supporting WEN DC. Without their support, we would be unable to provide the level and quality of programming we currently offer, including the numerous networking and professional development events hosted throughout the year. Our sponsors are critical to WEN DC’s continued growth and success, and we greatly appreciate their continued support.

Our chapter achieved a number of significant accomplishments over the past year:

  • We hosted a variety of creative in-person events, including our wildly successful inaugural HalloWEN Gala, an axe-throwing event (the “rage room” was a real hit!), a cooking class where we learned to make dumplings and pad Thai, and number of lively happy hours. After so much time seeing each other “online” it was great to get back together in person!

  • Our programming team hosted some truly excellent speakers last year, too. FERC Commissioner Allison Clements joined us via video to share insights from her inspiring career and highlight some of the fascinating issues before the Commission. Award-winning New York Times energy and environmental reporter Coral Davenport shared stories from her time in the trenches and discussed some of the key policy and legal issues of the day. And, Randi Braun from Something Major executive coaching led a dynamic seminar where she taught us to create a personal game plan for prioritizing our wellbeing and achieving better work-life balance.

  • Last, but certainly not least, our Executive membership tier available for executive-level leaders in the energy industry also enjoyed several exclusive programming and networking opportunities including a session on preparing to join a corporate board, a financial planning coaching event, and a networking dinner.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to either of us to learn more about our chapter and how you can join or become more involved.
