The Women’s Energy Network (WEN) Carolinas Chapter was established in July 2021 and our geographic reach encompasses all of North and South Carolina. Our founding members are from the Charlotte and Raleigh metro areas; several are veterans of other WEN chapters across the country and have brought their energy and experience to the Carolinas!

The Carolinas are home to a number of major energy sector businesses as well as several of the top energy industry research centers in the United States. These resources make our region one of the most diverse, educated, and robust energy centers in the nation.  North Carolina was the first state in the Southeast to develop a Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard, and our region supports hundreds of solar and wind developments, as well as nuclear, hydroelectric, oil and gas, and biofuels.  The people who work for these producers, and all the manufacturers, utilities, and technical services firms who support them, make up our chapter.

Our mission in WEN Carolinas is to create a diverse community of professionals who can inspire and support each other regardless of career path or industry.  We strive to provide meaningful and relevant programming, including professional development, mentoring, and – of course –  ample social and networking opportunities.  Above all, we want to be a valued resource to energy industry professionals across our region.
